China Culture

China has a long history, along with profound and extensive Chinese culture, where Chinese language and Chinese culture are interrelated and depending on each other. The course setting features a Chinese style, where you can enjoy real Chinese culture of original flavor and taste. Learners for this level of course shall be capable of Chinese proficiency to some extent.

Module I

History (historical figure, historical events and historical riddle)

  

  1. Trainees will have a general understanding of Chinese geography, history, culture and local customs, and their perceptual knowledge of Chinese culture will also be increased.

  2. For partial trainees, their understanding of Chinese culture can be strengthened, their comprehensive and research capability of Chinese can be enhanced.

    3. Upon successful completion of courses, trainees will be issued “Certificate of Chinese Language Training for Chinese Culture” by the CSC.

Module II

Peking opera (culture explanation, performance of aria of Peking opera, performance of shape of Peking opera, viewing and emulation by amateur performer, and feelings after viewing)

Module III

Calligraphy (way of brush pen holding, way of brush pen moving and appreciation of famous works)

Module IV

Chinese painting (Chinese painting appreciation, skills for Chinese painting, brushwork of landscape painting, brushwork of flower-bird works, brushwork of figures and appreciation of famous works)

Module V

Sinology culture (philosophy, history, religion, literature, etiquette and custom, textology, ethnics, study of edition and introduction to Sinology masters)

Module VI

Chinese cuisine (origin, specialty, feature and of cooking of eight major cook styles)

Module VII

Chinese landscape arts (origin and elements of landscape arts, way of landscaping of gardens, and aesthetic appreciation of landscape architectural arts)

Module VIII

Chinese religious culture (Buddhism, Taoism and their origin and nature; relationship of religion with philosophy, politics, morals, arts, science and superstition)

Module IX

Chinese tourism culture and customs (Chinese geography, local conditions and customs, places of historical interest and legends)

Module X

Chinese kung fu (origin and style of tai chi and Shaolin martial arts)
